Teaching Experience

I love teaching! Although I didn’t think I would feel this way when I started, I’ve found that imparting knowledge and helping students grow is one of the most fulfilling activities I’ve tried. It’s wonderful to see students grasp new techniques and tools, achieve stronger levels of understanding, and become able to teach their peers.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is showing students how to grapple with - and be comfortable with - not knowing the answer. Whether that’s because they haven’t learned the technique yet or because the answer is unknown (as is often the case in my field), I want my students to be ok with asking questions, making and justifying simplifying assumptions, and seeking help when needed.
